The City of Fulton is three-for-three. The third home rehabbed by the city in 2010 sold this week and the city again got the full market value for the home.

The city, under Mayor Ron Woodward, is taking a novel approach to homes seized by the city for failing to pay property taxes.

No sports. No band, chorus or theater. No junior prom, no homecoming, no clubs. No specialized art classes. Fewer electives in the high school and class sizes up to 27 in the elementary school. No kindergarten.

That’s the blackest of the many dark visions of the immediate future of one of the state’s poorest school districts as it works to cover state aid cuts for next year’s budget.
