Members of the Fulton Board of Education Tuesday praised Oswego County BOCES’ $35 million plan to renovate its campus for the first time since it opened in the late 1960s.
It’s a sharp turnaround from 2008, when boards of education criticized BOCES’ $48 million plan and it went down to overwhelming defeat among voters.
According to Fulton’s weather observer, there wasn’t any rain in Fulton on Feb. 21. However, Oswego received 0.08-inch of rainfall No snow was recorded in Fulton, while 2 inches fell in Oswego.
There were a few sprinkles around on Thursday. But, thanks to the warm temperatures, no snow – for now.
The volleyball team advances in the Section III playoffs. Also today: a scrimmage win for the Mock Trial team.
No sports. No band, chorus or theater. No junior prom, no homecoming, no clubs. No specialized art classes. Fewer electives in the high school and class sizes up to 27 in the elementary school. No kindergarten.
That’s the blackest of the many dark visions of the immediate future of one of the state’s poorest school districts as it works to cover state aid cuts for next year’s budget.
