Paterson Defiant, Will Run For Election Despite Unusual Intervention Of The White House

This will be awkward.

President Obama will be in Troy today for a speech at Hudson Valley Community College.  Gov. David Paterson will be there, too, just one day after the New York Times reported that Obama’s political advisor took the unusual step of meeting with Paterson to ask him not to run for election next year.

Fulton Common Council Honors Baseball All-Stars

The Fulton Senior League All-Stars, a team of 15 and 16 year old boys, made it all the way to 3rd place in the state during this summer’s tournament in Newburgh, completing a three-year arc that has seen the team grow from district champions into a team that made the state tournament and then into a team that came within a game of competing for the state title.

Smith Wins Fulton Common Council Primary; Incumbent Legislator Gearsbeck Loses GOP Backing

Former Fulton Alderman Dana Smith won the right to make a second try for the Common Council.  He won Tuesday’s Republican primary election against former Common Council President Ken Myers, 59-37.
