Fulton Waiting For Water Sample Results

Fulton Water Works Superintendent John Florek continues to collect water samples around the city today while he waits for the results of samples collected Monday. Florek says he suspects that test results will show that a sample taken from a small Fulton car dealership that tested positive for E. coli bacteria was an isolated incident. If that is confirmed, Florek said that a boil water advisory that has been in place since Saturday could be lifted by Wednesday afternoon.

Boil Water Order Issued In Fulton

UPDATED: The City of Fulton has issued a Boil Water order effective immediately, through at least Tuesday.  Under the advisory, residents on the city’s water system are asked not to drink water from the tap. Rather, any tap water used for cooking, drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth or making ice should first be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used.

Onondaga County Charge Could Result In Bail Revocation In Oswego County

Andrew J. Stoughtenger, 20, of Oswego was arrested Tuesday in connection with the attempted burglary of a residence in the town of LaFayette. Pending in Oswego County Court, Stoughtenger was indicted in July on 12 counts of second-degree burglary. In light of his recent arrest, the local district attorney’s office may have the opportunity to bring Stoughtenger back to the Oswego County jail.

Judge Delays Tanner’s Sentencing

Sentencing has been postponed once again in the case against the former director of the Fulton Public Library. Rebekah Tanner appeared in court Wednesday, where Fulton City Court Judge Spencer Ludington adjourned her case because Tanner’s restitution to the library was not paid in full. It is the third time sentencing has been delayed since Tanner pleaded guilty to petit larceny in May.

Guppy Waives To County Court

The case against a Fulton teenager who was arrested after allegedly causing serious injuries to his 18-month-old daughter will see its next days in a grand jury room. Robby J. Guppy, 17, of 604 E. Broadway, upstairs apartment, was slated to appear in Fulton City Court Wednesday. Instead, his attorney waived the charges to Oswego County Court. Guppy has been free on bail since Aug. 18.
