Federal Funding Will Be Used to Implement Workforce Training Programs in Wood and Paper Products

U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today August 22, announced $571,267 in federal funding for the Workforce Development Institute, part of the AFL-CIO. Specifically, the funding will go towards creating and implementing workforce training programs in the production of wood and paper products.

H. Lee White Maritime Museum curator Michael Pittavino of Oswego served as lead designer of the Great New York State Fair Maritime Exhibit for 2019. The exhibit features more than 14 recreational boats spanning the decades from 1913 to current-model boats representing modern hull and propulsion design in a dry-land mock marina setting.

Masonry Expert To Explain Fort Ontario’s Construction and the History of Masonry

Oswego County Plans Aerial Spraying Today, Aug. 20

he Oswego County Health Department reported today (Aug. 20) that seven new mosquito samples located in the village of Central Square and the towns of West Monroe, Hastings and Constantia have tested positive for the Eastern equine encephalitis virus. Oswego County plans to conduct aerial spraying of approximately 10,000 acres in portions of the towns of Hastings, West Monroe and Constantia this evening.
