OCSD, Partner Agencies Respond to Safety Concern

Early this morning, after freshmen were at the Oswego High School, a call was made to 911 regarding a gun at that location. Upon notification, the school immediately went into lockdown.OHS was released from lockdown at 11:20 a.m. upon an all-clear notification with no findings. The investigation is continuing.

State Police Investigate Member Involved Shooting in Hastings

UPDATED At approximately 8:30 a.m. today August 27, State Police in Hastings were dispatched by Oswego County 911 to the area of 3532 State Route 49 in the town of Hastings for a stolen vehicle complaint. Troopers located the suspect at which point the suspect pointed, what appeared to be, a handgun at Troopers. A Trooper discharged his duty weapon striking the suspect multiple times.

Oswego Council Approves ‘Boring’ Budget

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council unanimously passed “a rather boring budget.” The council voted 6-0-1 (Councilor Ron Tesoriero was excused) to approve Mayor Billy Barlow’s 2020 proposed budget. The spending plan for 2020 holds the line on taxes, calling for no increases to any taxes or fees, the mayor said Monday night.
