Mayor Billy Barlow announced today (June 26) a project along Syracuse Avenue that will slow vehicles down and improve the surrounding Sixth Ward neighborhood. Syracuse Avenue, on the east side of Oswego, connects to Route 481 coming into Oswego, and as a result, has historically seen vehicles speeding down the narrow neighborhood road.

“Flash flooding has created dangerous conditions in the Town of Oswego, the City of Oswego, the City of Fulton, and other locations in Oswego County,” Legislature Chairman Weatherup said. “We ask people in these areas to be extremely cautious in traveling in these areas.
