In conjunction with Canal Clean Sweep and Oswego County Earth Week, the Minetto Beautification Committee continued with its thirteenth year doing a spring clean up of the River View Park and a litter pick up along the Oswego River and Canal.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Elora Race. Elora has been missing since yesterday, April 23. She is approximately 5’4” tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.

A national education leader, a social marketing pioneer, a community-transforming philanthropist and the first mayor of the City of Framingham (Mass.) will all earn honorary degrees during SUNY Oswego’s Commencement ceremonies on May 18.

The Oswego DMV office will be closed to the public on Wednesday, April 24, and will re-open at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 25. The Oswego DMV office will continue to be closed to the public on Wednesdays of each week until further notice, while improvements are made to the facility.

Nearly 1,000 children, some a couple months old, roamed Breithbeck Park on Saturday. They “hunted” for more than 4,000 colorful plastic Easter eggs scattered around the park – mostly in plain sight.

The Oswego County Health Department reported today (April 19) that two raccoons recently tested positive for rabies. One was in the town of Hannibal and the other in the town of Williamstown. There was no known contact between either raccoon and humans or pets.
