At this week’s Administrative Services Committee, Mayor Billy Barlow requested permission to enter into an agreement and authorize funding the Wladis Law Firm to administer the SEQR process associated with the comprehensive zoning code re-write. The firm is best situated to administer the SEQR during the public discussion and finalization process later this month, the mayor explained.

The Oswego Common Council held its 2019 organizational meeting Monday night. It pretty much was a replay of 2018’s – except there wasn’t a bad snowstorm.

The Oswego Common Council gets back into action Monday night after a more than two week hiatus. A special council is scheduled for 6 p.m., prior to the regularly scheduled committee meetings.

On Thursday (January 3) the Oswego County Legislature elected District 9 Legislator James Weatherup as Chairman of the Legislature at its organizational meeting.

Oswego County Treasurer Kevin Gardner announced that a new on-line tax payment system is now available for people to pay all delinquent taxes in Oswego County. The service allows people who owe delinquent taxes to pay by credit card, debit card or electronic check.

Two pieces of Oswego’s history were donated to link the city’s catalog of historic documents. Cousins Ron and Mark Tesoriero worked together to preserve the Port City’s history. The city has dozens of books that document laws, events and pivotal moments dating back 170 years.
But, its collection wasn’t complete

The hike will focus on the 75-acre Fort Ontario Military Reservation National Register District as it looked during the Great War. Nov. 11, 2018 marked the 100-year anniversary of the signing of the Armistice which brought World War I to a close.

A crowd of more than 165 gathered in Oswego Veterans’ Memorial park to observe the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. And, they honored the memory of the many Oswego County veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Nine months from today, people will start to move into Champlain Commons, Diane Cooper-Currier, executive director, Oswego County Opportunities, said October 17. “OCO is thrilled to be a partner with Rochester’s Cornerstone Group and our state funding partners to bring new, safe, affordable and quality housing to Oswego County,” she said.
