Second West Monroe Victim Dies

The second victim in a previously reported death that occurred at 347 Brecheimer Road in the town of West Monroe on Monday, September 10, has died, the Sheriff’s Office reported today (September 25). Michael P. Shane, 59, of 451 County Route 11, lot 31, West Monroe, died earlier today (09/25/2018) as a result of injuries suffered in this incident, police said.

Lighthouse Improvements To Be Highlighted

On Tuesday Mayor Billy Barlow, Assemblyman Will Barclay and H. Lee White Maritime Director Mercedes Neiss will unveil recent improvements made to the Oswego Lighthouse at a special ceremony. The program is scheduled for the Wright’s Landing Marina/Oswego Yacht Club Pier, 41 Lake St. It starts at 10:30 a.m. and will last about 15 minutes. Following remarks by Mayor Barlow and Assemblyman Barclay, there will be a boat ride to the lighthouse.

Mayor Barlow Opens New Kingsford Park School Playground

In April 2016, dozens of Kingsford Park Elementary School students marched to City Hall to advocate for a new and safer playground at the park adjacent to their school. Today (September 21), they saw the results of their efforts.
