It’s a problem nearly as old as Oswego itself. Where can someone park during the Port City’s winters? At Monday night’s Planning and Development Committee meeting, councilors discussed ways to “enhance winter parking permit process and associated fees,” according to committee chair Ron Tesoriero.

Oswego has been named one of seven “Best Small Towns to Visit” in the U.S. according to the AARP Travel Center powered by Expedia. The listing was released earlier this month using data from 800 American travelers, aged 45 and older, to uncover lesser-known places that offer a worthwhile travel experience.

The Oswego County Legislature on Thursday night approved a new five-year contract with the Oswego County Professional Association. The previous contract expired December 31, 2017. The new deal includes salary increases for members over five years.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County kicked off its annual campaign on Wednesday at The American Foundry in Oswego. “This year’s message is simple,” the executive director said. “When united, donor dollars provide assistance to every age in every corner of Oswego County. Individual contributions paired with a county-wide engagement create a much greater and lasting impression than any of us can ever imagine.”
