Regional Economic Development Council Awards Announcement Scheduled

Governor Andrew Cuomo will announce the winners of the 2017 Regional Economic Development Council Awards on December 13 at 11 a.m. in Albany. The CNY REDC selected 38 priority projects that were submitted to the state for funding through the CFA process. Of the 38 projects submitted, eight (21%) are in Oswego County.

Scriba Man Facing 7 Counts Of Sexual Abuse

On Monday (Dec. 4) at 12:16 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested Rodney McCormick Sr., 46, of 205 Middle Road, Apt. 27, Oswego (Scriba). He was charged with seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He allegedly had sexual contact with the victim being less than 13 years of age.

Cold Case Tuesday: State Police Continue To Investigate The 1973 Death Of An Oneida Castle Woman

On July 26, 1973, Martha Louise Allen was reported missing by her grandfather from their residence in Oneida Castle. He had last seen her on July 25 at approximately 8:30 a.m., when he left the residence to go to the Syracuse area for the day. On August 17, 1973, a boater on Black Creek, in the area of Verona Beach State Park, located a partially decomposed female body in the water. The body was later identified as Martha L. Allen.
