Free Valet Parking Available for Oswego Hospital Patients

Patients at Oswego Hospital can now take advantage of a perk that will keep them warm and dry when they arrive by vehicle at the healthcare facility: free valet parking services. Oswego Hospital began offering the complimentary valet parking service today (Dec. 4) to patients using one of the hospital’s many services. Motorists, who wish to take advantage of this new patient initiative, need to just drive up to the hospital’s main covered entrance between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Bubis Facing New Sex Charges

On Nov. 30 at 9:28 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested Gary A. Bubis Jr., 37, of 393 Albion Cross Road, Pulaski. He was charged with first-degree sex abuse, a class D felony. He allegedly engaged in sexual contact with the victim being less than the age of 13.

CiTi Helps Oswego Remove Blighted Houses

Students at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation are teaming up with the city of Oswego to help tear down blighted houses within the city. The new partnership kicked off on Nov. 28 when students and staff from CiTi arrived at 154 E. Seneca St. to begin to demolish the building.

APW Board Selects Eric Knuth as Superintendent of Schools

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Board of Education announced that it has voted to hire Eric Knuth as the new Superintendent of APW Schools. Knuth is currently the principal at Cazenovia High School. He holds a B.A. in English from Siena College, a Master’s in education from the College of St. Rose and a C.A.S. from Cortland State University.

State Police Seek Public Assistance With Vandalism Investigation

State Police in Hastings are investigating a vandalism incident that occurred outside a residence on Bradbury Road in the town of West Monroe. The investigation has revealed that on November 26, between midnight and 8 a.m., someone damaged a garage door with spray paint and used a pick axe to damage two vehicles that were parked in the driveway.

Several years ago, Ralph Singh, founding President of Gobind Sadan, USA, told Oswego County Today that “Darkness is merely a stage for the light to play on. As dark as it might seem; in fact the brighter the light becomes. And, a beacon of hope spreads further across the horizons for all men to see.” That was evident at the recent ‘Gathering Around The Light’ ceremony at the Sikhs’ temple on Graves Road in Palermo. In a world dominated by acts of hatred, some 50 people gathered to celebrate the power of forgiveness to overcome the flames hatred and remember the great miracle that rekindled the hope of the Central New York region.

Oswego Resident Alleges Sexual Harassment Against Common Councilor, Editor

Carol Thompson, a former local reporter, attempted to speak Monday night at the Common Council’s public session. She was shut down by the City Attorney Kevin Caraccioli; her comments, he ruled, violated the guidelines for speaking at the public session. It constituted a ‘personal attack,’ he said. The sexually explicit recording was sent to her via Facebook messenger, Thompson told the council as she began to play the one minute, five second recording into the record. She didn’t play the entire message.

Fort Ontario To Host ‘Wreaths Across America Day’ Dec. 16

Fort Ontario State Historic Site will host a “Wreaths Across America Day” program Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to make wreaths with natural evergreens in the Enlisted Men’s Barracks and place them at the graves of the 77 officers, enlisted men, and their family members buried in the Post Cemetery.
