The Administrative Services Committee put four Oswego business owners on notice of possible lawsuits unless they repay (between $11,000 and $65,000 each) overdue Community Development Office loans. At its meeting Monday night, the committee gave a favorable recommendation to City Attorney Kevin Caraccioli’s request to take legal action against the four. “They owe approximately $160,000, which needs to be accounted for. This is an attempt to collect what is owed the city of Oswego,” he told the committee. “I’m asking for your support to take legal action.”

Investigation revealed a 2003 Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on East Main Street in the village of Parish when he struck a 2002 Volkswagen which had been parked along the north shoulder of East Main Street, in front of 2914 E. Main St. The investigation is continuing.

Deputies Investigate Fatal Crash on Interstate 81 near Lafayette

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday evening (Oct. 13) on Interstate 81 near the Lafayette exit in the town of Lafayette. The victim, a man in his 30s from Syracuse, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the FedEx tractor trailer, a 43-year-old man from Oswego County, was not injured.

Women’s Center To Build Awareness Of Domestic Violence With Take Back The Night

The SUNY Oswego Women’s Center will host the 35th annual Take Back the Night at 6 p.m. Oct. 24, to raise awareness of domestic violence. The Take Back the Night march brings attention to violence, including sexual assault and domestic violence, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Suzanne Stout, representing We the People of Oswego Indivisible, said the event, scheduled for 7 p.m. on October 17, would take place in the Legislative Chamber on the fourth floor of the County Office Building, 46 E.
