After November, when you see signs that advertise: “Get Your Flu Vaccine Here,” you might think, “Isn’t it too late for that?” However, the Oswego County Health Department advises that as long as flu viruses are spreading, it’s not too late to get a vaccine to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Toys For Tots of Oswego County will hold its annual Tunes For Tots this month. The event will take place December 14 at The American Foundry, 246 W. Syracuse Hancock International Airport announced that it has teamed with PAWS of CNY, Inc. to offer a Pet Therapy Program at the airport. The program, which is called the SYR Pets Easing Travelers Program is designed to help ease the stress of the traveling public and their loved ones.
The Oswego City Police Department is enforcing a more educational approach to preventing underage drinking and the usage of fake IDs before issuing violations, said Lt. Charles Searor. Searor said that the department will reach out to students in a number of ways through the college and even reaching out to students off-campus. “We used to just do enforcement and not a lot of education and outreach with both students and bars,” Searor said. “We’ve kind of taken a different avenue and tried to educate [and] outreach first.”
On Tuesday, November 29, at approximately 3:40 a.m., State Police arrested 18-year-old Calyx A. Estep from 32 State Route 49, Cleveland, and 21-year-old Jordan T. Garrett, from 2284 County Route 37, Lot #66, West Monroe, for Robbery 2nd degree, a class “C” felony.
