Oswego Mayor Proposes New Sewer Rate Schedule

The sewer rate schedule that was adopted by the Common Council in December 2015 didn’t create parity between low-volume users and high-volume users, Mayor Billy Barlow said Monday night. “I am recommending a modification to the sewer rate schedule that addresses this disparity,” the mayor said. “Our goal is to alleviate some of the pressure for our homeowners and to get our heavier users to pay their fair share.”

Four Charged Following Burglary Investigation In Mexico

On January 18, State Police and Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on State Route 3 in the town of Mexico. Oswego County Sheriff’s Deputies located a vehicle in the area matching the suspect vehicle description with three male occupants fitting the description of the suspects observed by a neighbor.

Oswego Fire Department personnel responded to 158 W. Seneca St. at 10:39 a.m. today (April 29) to a reported vehicle
fire in close proximity to structures. According to witnesses on the scene, a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the garage, raised the door, and found the vehicle with smoke coming from under the hood.
