On Thursday night (Jan. 27, 1966), the snow began to come down heavily. By Jan. 28 it was a full-fledged snowstorm. Everyone in the “Snow Belt” coped. We had weathered snowstorms before. In fact, on Saturday, Jan. 29, there was a break in the weather. The storm had let up. No big deal. The area and its residents had survived another bout with Mother Nature’s snow machine. They always had, and always would. Then, all hell broke loose on Jan. 30!

Motor Vehicle Collision Sends One to Hospital

Emergency crews in Oswego were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at 10:23 this morning near the intersection of West Bridge and Sixth streets. According to fire officials on the scene, the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the road, crashed into a house and rolled onto its side. The male patient was packaged and transported to a Syracuse area hospital with lower extremity injuries.
