Senate OKS Ritchie Bill To Open Underused State Prison To Ease Local Jail Crowding

Local counties are paying as much as $90 to $130 or more each day to outboard prisoners at local jails in other regions. According to the state Division of Criminal Justice Services, counties were outboarding 525 prisoners to other jails last month, including 33 from Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties.

College Student Facing Felony Drug Charge

On May 14, the Oswego County Drug Task Force with assistance from the New York State Police Financial Crimes Unit and Computer Crimes Unit executed search warrants for the residence and person of Dylan C. Soeffing at 210 Fifth Ave., Apartment # 7. Investigators seized 809 illegally possessed prescription Xanax pills, a small amount of marihuana and more than $170,000 in U.S. currency, police said.
