On May 16, Andrew J. Galluzi, 21, of 39 Manorview Way Manorville, NY, was arrested in Suffolk County New York based upon an Oswego County Court arrest warrant. Galluzi was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility to await arraignment in Oswego County Court.
Firefighters responded Sunday night to a fire in the basement area of the Buckhout Building below Murdock’s Bike Shop. The fire was located in the window frame between the window and the plywood covering it and was extinguished. The cause appears to be improper disposal of smoking materials, according to OFD.

Paddlers of all ages and abilities have a chance to paddle the locks on the Oswego River Canal June 21, in the Oswego “Rock the Locks” Paddlefest. The event encourages kayakers and canoeists to enjoy and appreciate the unique beauty of the historic Oswego River, followed by food and music along the canal in Oswego.
On Thursday at approximately 8:05 p.m., investigators with the Oswego City Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team executed a search warrant at 146 E. Third St. in the city of Oswego. Two people were charged – Joseph B. Crapser and Amy E. Favata, both of of 146 E. Third St., Oswego.
Motorists are reminded that the month of May is “Buckle Up New York Click it or Ticket 2014.” New York will be participating in a “Border to Border” effort. New York law enforcement agencies will join those from ten other states to team up in a Click It or Ticket “Border to Border” enforcement and public education operation.
The H. Lee White Marine Museum is gearing up for an exciting season full of events, new exhibits and even the first Lake Ontario CNY Lighthouse Challenge. The museum will open its vessels on May 17 in celebration of the new season.
Oswego Police, after consultation with the NYS Department of Transportation and the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, has concluded the motor vehicle accident investigation report for the A-Bus trolley versus pedestrian accident that occurred on May 9. No criminal charges are pending.
The Oswego County Legislature is considering reducing operation of its transfer stations by one day. Even though it wasn’t on Thursday’s agenda, legislators got an earful during the public session following the meeting. Several residents spoke out against any changes to the stations’ operations.
On Monday, a detour was set up for the Sewer Separation Project. All construction was to be completed and West First Street was originally scheduled to be open by Friday. However, the City Engineer’s Office has announced that the West First Street closure will now be extended through Wednesday.
