Oswego Mayor Issues Travel Advisory For Port City

The travel advisory phrase means no unnecessary travel on city streets and no parking on city streets between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. which are the hours of the city’s alternate-side parking restrictions. Motorists are asked not to park on city streets during non-parking ban hours to assist city DPW crews in snow removal.

Oswego Council Paves The Way For Chamber, Harborfest Events

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council approved use of city property for the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce told hold its annual summer season events, including the farmers’ market and Independence Day Celebration. Also, one resolution was approved for the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics – with Third Ward Councilor Mike Todd being named to participate.

Stefanovich sentenced to 20 years on rape charge

On Friday, the Hon. James Metcalf, Acting Oswego County Court Judge, sentenced Joseph A. Stefanovich to 20 years in state prison, along with five years post-release supervision, based upon his conviction for Rape in the First Degree. The defendant was convicted of Rape 1st on November 22, 2013, after a week-long jury trial in which Stefanovich testified on his own behalf.

Grants Boost Erie Canal Education and Preservation

Ten innovative education and preservation projects will get off the ground this year with funding support from Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. That includes $4,000 for the H. Lee White Marine Museum to develop a traveling exhibit that documents changes in the Oswego Canal and adjacent landscape using historical and current day images.

Zink Shirts Paints The Town With New Art Exhibit

The artwork lined the walls of the screen printing shop along with the usual merchandise. People explored the shop, viewing pieces made by Aaron Z. Lee.
