Troopers Investigate Fatal Industrial Accident in the Village of Pulaski

UPDATE:  State Police have released the name of the victim: Kyle M. Brown – 23 – of Turin, NY.

.A member of the construction crew on site was in the process of installing metal roofing on the new building, about 24 feet off the ground, when a gust of wind blew him and a piece of the roofing off of the roof structure at the F.X. Caprara construction site Monday afternoon.

Health Department Holds Preparedness Training for County Organizations

On November 6 the Oswego County Health Department held an informational program for some of Oswego County’s largest employers regarding ways of protecting their most important assets, their employees, during a biological threat. The program was provided by the Bio-Defense Network and designed to enhance the ability of the County Health Department to distribute medication to all county residents in case of a declared disaster.

Humane Society Receives Bequest From Flora Estate

In 2005, the Oswego County Humane Society received a donation from the Flora Living Trust, which had been established by John and Evelyn Flora, residents of the village of Mexico. In late October this year, the Humane Society received a check in the amount of $25,000 from the estate of John Flora, who had been predeceased by his wife, Evelyn.

Legislators Urged To Keep YAP In 2014 County Budget

Legislators approved contracting with Cayuga Centers of Auburn to provide MultiSystemic Therapy effective Jan. 1, 2014. It would end the Youth Advocate Program which has assisted families in the county for more than 15 years. Youngsters and adults shared their experiences with YAP in an effort to persuade lawmakers to save the program. A public hearing on the county budget plan will be held early next month.
