The Water Department plant manager is seeking authorization for the Purchasing Agent to seek bids to purchase and install equipment for surveillance and security measures at the Water Treatment Plant and remote Water Department facilities.
The Oswego County Highway Department has installed new signs to assist users of the Oswego County Recreational Trail. The signs are posted at various points along the 26-mile trail and indicate location, dining and lodging facilities, gas stations and rules of use.

On January 1, the Oswego City Police Department arrested Ronald J. Bisnett, 42, of 5432 State Route 104, Oswego. At approximately 1:11a.m. at East Seneca and Ninth streets Bisnett was observed by police allegedly failing to stop for several stop signs.

Michael C. Backus of Mexico was sworn in as Oswego County Clerk on Jan. 1. Accompanied by his family, including his brother SSgt. Robert P. Backus USMC, Backus was sworn in by NYS Supreme Court Judge James McCarthy.
