National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week is October 21 to 27

This year’s theme, “Lead-Free Kids for a Healthy Future,” underscores the importance of testing your home, testing your child, and learning how to prevent lead poisoning’s serious health effects, which include permanent learning and behavioral problems. The CDC estimates that nearly half a million children living in the United States have elevated blood lead levels that may cause significant damage to their health.

Traffic Safety Champions Honored

“Police officers, educators, bus drivers, motorcyclists, wheelchair bus educator – we really have a wide variety of awesome winners this year! Tradition Marches On – OHS Senior Headed To U.S. Army All-American Marching Band

The 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour recruited Joseph Bertonneau to the Army All-American Marching Band. He will take part in the halftime performance of the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He is the 10th Oswego student selected since 2007. The game will be televised live on NBC, from the Alamodome on Jan. 5, 2013.

OHS Musician Tabbed For U.S. Army All-American Bowl Band

Representatives from the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour will visit Oswego High School on Wednesday to officially select clarinet player Joseph Bertonneau to the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band. Oswego High School will honor Bertonneau before his fellow band members, classmates, fans and family during a post rehearsal assembly.
