Committee Pushing For Reinstatement Of Oswego Zoning Enforcement Officer
The Neighborhood Quality of Life Committee is seeking council approval for the reinstatement of the city Zoning Enforcement Officer, according to Connie Cosemento, chair. “We are losing value in our properties because our quality of life is being challenged. We are losing as a community,” she said Monday night.
Fatal Crash Victims Identified – Investigation Continues
Oswego County Sheriff’s Investigators have released the names of the persons involved in a truck vs. motorcycle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon on State Route 49 in West Monroe. The driver of the truck was 65-year-old Carl Wells of Parish. The driver of the motorcycle was Robert Hoke, 54, of Westernville, NY. His passenger was Lisa Staple, 49, of Rome, NY.
Fire Strikes Pulaski VFW; Search Under Way For Cause
UPDATE: “Upon arrival we had heavy flames and smoke coming out of the front of the building,” Chief Assistant Fire Chief Scott Redden of the Ringgold Fire Departmen said. “At this time it’s still under investigation. We’re not exactly sure what started it. Nobody was inside at the time.” However, a resident of the second floor apartment is hoping his cat is somewhere safe in the apartment.
Police Investigating Double Fatal MVA
Members of the Oswego County Sheriffs Office and the West Monroe Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash that occurred Sunday on State Route 49 at the intersection of Whig Hill Road in the Town of West Monroe.Two people died in the crash.

Oswego Man Facing Felony Weapons Charge
As a result of the January search, police discovered and seized a Remington 870 shotgun, which had been altered to an illegal state. Specifically, the barrel had been shortened, or ‘sawed off.’ Police also seized what appeared to be two homemade silencers for the shotgun and two other long guns which were secured for safe keeping.

The Oswego City Police Department has investigated a complaint of inappropriate sexual contact between two Kingsford Park Elementary students. The district has informed police that appropriate measures have been taken.
