Dave White Officially Kicks Off Bid For Mayor’s Job
William “Dave” White is president, but he wants to be mayor. On Thursday afternoon, the out-going president of the Oswego City School District’s Board of Education officially kicked off his campaign to become the next mayor of the Port City. Dozens of family members and supporters, including various candidates for city and county positions, applauded White’s announcement outside the Republican Headquarters on West Utica Street.
Oswego Summer School Registration Set June 29 At OHS
The 2010-11 school year has been completed, but there are some students who will require additional time in the academic areas. Once again the Oswego City School District will offer summer school from July 6 to Aug. 16. Summer school will be conducted this year for grades nine through twelve at the Oswego High School.
Residents Fight To Save Redfield Post Office
The people who live in the tiny Oswego County town are taking on federal officials in an attempt to save their post office. The U.S. Postal Service has been losing money for years. It is looking to close unprofitable postal offices, most of which are in small rural towns.
OHS Class Of 2011 Graduates Saturday

Oswego Assistant Superintendent Leaving The School District
At its meeting Tuesday night, the Oswego City School District Board of Education said goodbye to veteran board member and current board president Dave White. They also accepted the resignation of Peter Colucci, the assistant superintendent for business.

The annual Oswego High School awards ceremony recognized numerous deserving, hardworking and dedicated students. Through the generosity of parents, families, businesses and community oriented organizations Oswego High School students benefited greatly with the awarding of numerous scholarships worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Spring 2011 Was A bit Wet, Warm But Close To Average
The average temperature for spring 2011 was 1.5 degrees above average. There were some very wet streaks. But, there was a dry spell to balance things out.
