Annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Welcomes 900 Students

West Chester University will host 900 students and faculty from colleges and universities in New York (including SUNY Oswego), Pennsylvania, and Maryland at the Region Two festival of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival on January 12–16. This is the second of eight consecutive weekly celebrations of excellence and achievement of theater in higher education.

Active Agenda Wraps Up 2015 For Oswego School Board

Numerous items packed the over two and a half hour committee and regular meetings. Presentations were scheduled and Angela Voninski talked about a review of the special programs area while Diane Oldenburg of the Oswego County Health Department was on hand to talk about head lice. Mike McCrobie and Laura Bateman, coaches of softball and lacrosse respectively, presented information relating to field trips for their teams in March.

Oswego Police Investigate Valero Robbery

On Tuesday (December 15), at about 10:07 p.m., the Oswego Police Department responded to 181 E. First St., the Valero for a robbery complaint. It was reported that a male entered Valero and demanded cash. No weapon was displayed. No one was injured during the robbery, but the male did make off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Council Hikes Water, Sewer Fees

“This is positively something that I didn’t want to be the last thing that I did as mayor,” Tom Gillen said Monday night. “But, we’re caught between a rock and a hard place.” With Council President Eric VanBuren absent, Gillen was forced to cast the deciding vote whether to increase water and sewer rates for Oswego taxpayers.
