Legislator James Karasek is challenging Oswego County residents to ensure everyone has a happy holiday season. Tops has started a can drive for Catholic Charities for the Christmas Baskets. The legislator and his wife have purchased 25 cases and challenged others to match that; and Tops will donate 25 more cases.

Mentor-Scholar, a collaborative effort between the Oswego City School District, Fulton City School District, Red Creek Central School District, CiTi, and SUNY Oswego, provides local middle and high school students with the academic and social support of college mentors throughout the academic year.

Light Up Oswego and the annual tree lighting will take place this year on November 28. This is a free family event meant to encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the holiday season together as a community. The celebration will kick off the holiday season in Oswego with activities beginning as early as 10 a.m. that day.

Thursday (November 19), marks the 39th anniversary of the reported disappearance of Oswego resident Dean Heagerty.
Dean was 19 years old at the time he was reported missing.
He was 6’1” tall with blue eyes and shoulder length blond hair. He was believed to be hitchhiking shortly before being reported missing to authorities.
