The project will consist of removing and replacing certain utility poles on NYS Route 104 from Duer Street to West Fifth Street. The project is not expected to effect electric service. Temporary parking restrictions will be posted to accommodate the project.
Thanks to West Monroe Eagle Scout Eric Hartmann, the fishing pond at the Salmon River Visitors Center and International Sport Fishing Museum has a new raft. The museum has developed a ½-acre fishing pond on the museum grounds on state Route 13, but needed a structure in the pond for the fish to hide under.
Republican mayoral candidate Billy Barlow spoke with a group of local business owners regarding areas of concern for the city and answering any questions the group may have.

Oswego Common Council President Eric VanBuren presented a proclamation at this week’s council meeting recognizing Fire Prevention Week. He encouraged all city residents to install smoke alarms in their residences, on every level including the basement. September is a bittersweet month for many people involved in the Heidi Allen kidnapping case.
For the Allen family, each September brings another birthday for Heidi, the 1994 kidnapping victim that has been missing since her disappearance from her then job at a convenience store. Following a September 10 hearing between the NYSDOH Board of Professional Medical Conduct and Respondent, Dilip Kumar Roy, M.D., the Department of Health has ordered his license as a physician in the state of New York be surrendered effective October, 1 2015. The decision comes after an investigtion into Dr. Roy’s practice following a May 2015 arrest for one count of Rape in the 3rd degree, a felony.
