On March 12, investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation in the illegal possession and sales of prescription narcotics within the city of Fulton. On March 13, at approximately 6 p.m., the Oswego County Drug Task Force with the assistance of the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team and the Oswego City Police Department executed a methamphetamine related search warrant at 222 Liberty St. in the city of Oswego, police said today (March 19).
On March 16, Fulton Police were dispatched to a local gas station for a report of suspicious males outside of the business. An employee reported that multiple customers reported that three males were outside the business asking about “drugs.” During the investigation, it was discovered one of the men was wanted on a warrant.

The Career Technical Endorsements program is set to kick off this fall at OHS. The CTE program in Television Production will give students a leg up heading to college or entering the workforce, the program’s creator said. Students can also earn college credit while still in high school.
The Oswego Fire Department was dispatched at 2:42 p.m. today (March 18) to a possible structure fire at 134 Midland St., on the east side of the city. Fire officials stated that an occupant saw smoke coming from a bathroom and called 911. Crews were able to locate a small fire in the front wall of the structure and extinguished it quickly.
Oswego County Fire Coordinator Donald Forbes reminds county residents of the annual statewide ban on all open burning which is in effect in New York during the high fire-risk period of March 16 through May 14. The ban makes it illegal to use a burn barrel or open pit as a means for incinerating trash. The burning of leaves is also banned anytime of the year in New York State.

New York Sea Grant has received funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration through the National Sea Grant College Program to track historic storm events along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario. The project will create a climatological event database to better assist risk projection to help communities increase their storm event resiliency.
