Volunteers, river guides, and members of local environmental organizations will gather July 12, at the Pine Grove Boat Launch near Selkirk Shores State Park for a community water chestnut pull on the Salmon River Estuary. Volunteers may ride in a driftboat with a river guide or bring their own canoes and kayaks.

After 13 years of school, it took about 28 minutes Saturday to turn the OHS Class of 2014 into freshly minted graduates. At 10:47 a.m., diplomas were received by the first batch of students. The clock above center ice clicked to 11:11 a.m. as Meggie Zhang accepted the final diploma.

Once again the French, under the Chevalier de la Corne, will achieve surprise when their scouts overrun a British woodcutting party, but lose momentum when their Sulpican Priest Abbe Piquet stops the main force of attackers to pray for victory, thus providing the panicked defenders time to roll flour and pork barrels into a defensive line.
