U.S. Representative Dan Maffei announced he will host a “Discuss it with Dan” mobile office hours event on Friday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Oswego Public Library Community Room, 120 E. Second St.
Snow or no snow, the date’s almost here for CNY Arts Center’s third annual Snow Day. Set for Saturday (Jan. 18), this year the fun will take place downtown at the Community Room in City Hall and across the street at Veterans’ Park. “We decided to move it downtown where we also have space for outdoor fun,” said Nancy Fox, director. In addition to snow fun, Saturday’s plans include snow themed games, a children’s carnival, art projects, entertainment and food.
Town Supervisor Nancy Ridgeway, Town Highway Superintendent Mike Kastler, and County Legislator Margaret Kastler (1st District), along with Oswego County Emergency Management Office Director Dale A. Currier are monitoring the situation closely. “The town wants to ensure the safety of residents,” Supervisor Ridgeway and Highway Superintendent Kastler said. “People should be very aware of their surroundings.”
State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced she is cosponsoring a measure that supports the brave men and women of our armed forces by giving preference for state contracts to businesses owned by disabled veterans.
The SUNY system has selected SUNY Oswego’s online master’s in business administration and MBA in health services administration to join only six other degree programs in the soft launch this spring of Open SUNY. SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher introduced the new Open SUNY+ degree programs during her annual State of the University address today (Jan. 14) in Albany.
