The H. Lee White Maritime Museum is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse this year. A Lighthouse Events Committee has been formed to work on several activities. The Museum Lighthouse Committee will be holding a planning meeting on January 26 at 2:30 p.m. Interested members of the community are invited to attend this meeting.

Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang advises residents and property owners near North and South Sandy Ponds to be aware of signs of flood damage to septic systems, wells, and homes. Investigation revealed a 2006 Subaru, driven by Adam O. Dix, age 28, from Phoenix, was traveling southbound on County Route 57A in the town of Schroeppel when he allegedly failed to keep right and crossed the double solid line into the northbound lane striking a town of Schroeppel Highway Department truck.
Flooding Eases In Sandy Creek – Town Officials Continue To Urge Caution
Flood waters in the Town of Sandy Creek west of Route 3 along the shoreline of Lake Ontario are beginning to recede today (Jan. 15), town officials reported, but people in the area should continue to use caution and follow flood safety tips. The water has receded about 8 inches overnight following flooding that occurred along North Pond in the Town of Sandy Creek.
