Dr. Alfred Frederick, distinguished service professor in SUNY Oswego’s curriculum and instruction department, participated in the State Conference on Education in the State of Piaui, Brazil. The forum is a component of Brazil’s National Curriculum Reform Project, involving national mobilization for the discussion of public policies on education leading to the construction of decennial education plans for municipalities, states and the country.

A church full of parishioners, two area bishops, and stirring musical performances were all part of the celebration at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Oswego, on November 21, as Reverend Anne Wichelns was installed as assistant priest for the Episcopal-Lutheran Faith Partnership of Oswego and Fulton.
After several years working in the customer service field, Kelly Trejo found herself out of work. With funding assistance through a Workforce Investment Act training scholarship, Kelly completed the pharmacy technician program at OCM BOCES in August 2013. Through her hard work and perseverance, Kelly is not only a successful graduate, but is currently employed full-time at Wayne Drug in Oswego.
Jimmy Javon Rolon, 21, and his mother, Veronica L. Lebron, 39, both of 123 Senior Avenue in the town of Granby, were arrested on November 25 following joint investigation. Adam M. Hamilton, 22, and his mother, Theresa Akarpinar, 45, both of 307 Rathburn Road, Lot #17, Granby, were arrested as a result of a search warrant executed at their residence.

SUNY Oswego has moved to take advantage of the economic development and educational opportunities presented by the governor’s recently launched START-UP NY program, selecting three campus properties to showcase to businesses, meeting with prospects and faculty, and beginning to assemble an advisory council. The work this fall also has included aligning the college’s core academic competencies with potential business interests.
