Got books? The Port City’s Little Free Library Project, which began this summer, has been so successful that it could use an infusion of some more books. The goal is to promote people getting to know their communities more and to promote literacy.
Educational and extracurricular activities abound at the Oswego High School. Recently, Oswego City School District Board of Education Student Representative and Oswego High School Student Council President Kara Weiss made a presentation at the board meeting relating to a wide array of opportunities that can enhance the educational experience.
Investigation revealed a 1996 Geo Prizm, operated by Heather Carr, 21, of Hastings, was headed south when the pedestrian, Arthus Groff, 29, of Central Square, attempted to cross the road in front of her. Carr’s vehicle struck Groff, according to state police.

The Central New York Ghost Hunters and Friends of Fort Ontario, along with other ghost hunting groups, will host their annual Ghost Tours event at Fort Ontario State Historic Site Oct. 18 and 19. Tours are by advance reservation only.
For the second year, Rachel’s Challenge was brought to the Fulton Junior High School for three presentations. Rachel’s Challenge is a school assembly program that combines footage of the Columbine High School shooting with Rachel Scott’s inspiring drawings and writings in a campaign to quell bullying.
