Setting goals and helping others achieve their goals is always rewarding. For former Morningstar Residential Health Care resident David Jones, reaching his goal was not just rewarding, it was life-changing.
After many hours of “hardcore repairs,” new carpets, and tearing down old wallpaper in favor of paint, the Sunshine Community and Childcare Center held its open house on Sunday. It’s the brainchild of Jessica Naioti, inspired by the trouble she had finding reliable childcare for her son, Benjamin. Her hope is that Sunshine becomes the place kids want to be in Fulton, and will tell their friends about.
The Fulton Police Department recently welcomed its newest member, Meki, a 15-month-old Male German Sheppard. Meki, who was born in Holland, graduated K-9 training with the Syracuse Police Department on May 31, with his handler Officer Jarrett Marino. Meki is replacing Fulton Police K-9, “Rika,” who just retired.

Congratulations on your success.” “Its bittersweet because I never thought this day would come,” said Devyn Viscome. “But I’m excited to start a new journey in college and really just start my life.”
“This is certainly an important day for all of us,” said Superintendent Donna Fountain before asking the graduating class to give their parents a round of applause for their support over the years. David Wilbert, Hannibal Alumni Class of 2001, was the guest speaker at the event. “Here’s my advice to you,” said Wilbert. “Be successful, follow your heart, and take risks.”
“Take advantage of opportunity and believe that you can do things that others may not believe you can accomplish. Don’t allow negativity to influence a direction that you believe can be achieved. Be confident of yourself, continue to learn, and continue to strive to be the very best you can be every day. If you can dream it, you can do it. So, I say…Dream Big!” Superintendent Bill Crist told the Class of 2013.
In the case of the exercise no news is good news, as neither FEMA nor the NRC found anything critical that needed to be immediately addressed. “The preliminary results were positive,” said Steve Barr, senior emergency preparedness inspector for the NRC.
The New York State Police in Pulaski investigated a two-vehicle minor personal injury accident that occurred on Interstate 81 northbound in the town of Richland at approximately noon June 21. Both drivers were taken to Upstate Hospital, Syracuse, and treated for minor injuries. One of them was charged with DWI.
