CSEA President Danny Donohue is slamming a new proposal by Gov. Andrew Cuomo that would provide yet another tax giveaway to business at the expense of local communities and middle class jobs. The CSEA leader also expressed extreme concern that state legislative leaders seem ready to give the governor a blank check on this latest misguided venture.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today (May 22) unveiled “Tax-Free NY,” a game-changing initiative that will transform SUNY campuses and university communities across the state into tax-free communities that attract start-ups, venture capital, new business, and investments from across the world.
The investigation revealed a 2000 Ford F-150 was located by the Constantia Fire Chief off the west side shoulder of the roadway, overturned and partially submerged in Scriba Creek. The driver was located by fire personnel, partially ejected from the vehicle submerged under water.
The theme for this year’s Memorial Day Salute Parade is “America, United We Stand.”
Many area individuals, organizations, businesses and industries will try to develop their interpretation of this theme in the vehicles or floats they will enter in the parade on Saturday. The Fulton Memorial Day Salute is a two-day event that is 32 years old this year, started and carried on by the four Fulton Service Clubs.

Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, the Fulton Board of Education had the results: The 2013-2014 school budget passed. Along with the $65.3 million budget, incumbent board member David Carvey and newcomer Christine Plath were also elected.
The Oswego City School District’s 2013-14 budget was overwhelmingly approved by the voters Tuesday night. The unofficial results were 1,131 yes to 407 no. Voters also re-elected Kathleen Allen and Jim Tschudy. Heather DelConte was the second highest vote-getter.
The district is submitting its plan to the Supreme Court and State Education Department soon. District officials believe things will go smoothly and the school will be able to open at its new location, at 80 Dutch Road in the town of Scriba, in time for the start of the 2013-14 school year.
According to authorities in Providence, R.I., a Fulton man is somehow involved in an assault that left a college basketball player hospitalized in critical condition. Around 2:23 a.m. on May 12, Joseph Sharkey, a Brown University basketball player was punched in the head, leaving him seriously injured. Sharkey fractured his skull on the concrete and was taken to a Rhode Island hospital. A Connecticut man was charged with the assault. Dillon James “DJ” Ingham of Fulton was charged with one count of disorderly conduct related to the incident.
