Each May, SUNY Oswego seniors mark a day on their calendar that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives: graduation. But they’re not the only ones with the date circled. Every commencement celebration is on the calendar of the numerous people behind the scenes, sometimes months before, who help make the day happen.
A crash reportedly occurred on State Route 3 in front of CT Farm and Tractor in Fulton at approximately 2:30 p.m.today, according to contributing photographer Rick Grosvent. One victim had to be cut out of the overturned vehicle. She was transported to Upstate by Menter ambulance with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
A DNA sample from an Oswego County arrest in 2011 has helped solve a 2002 case, according to Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh. Detectives charged a Liverpool man in connection with the 11-year-old sex offense investigation.

May 12-18 marks Police Week, a time dedicated to recognizing the men and women in law enforcement who safeguard the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Fulton. “The police are greatly overlooked until you need them,” said Councilor Pete Franco.
Nearly three dozen students from around the county took control the of the May meeting of the Oswego County Legislature. The students sat with their legislator counterparts and cast their votes during the meeting.
“One Mission: One Team” is the theme of this year’s Emergency Medical Services Week, taking place May 19 through 25. “This is a time to recognize those who we take for granted, our EMS workers,” said Zach Menter, vice president of Oswego County Ambulance Service based in Fulton. “People just assume that rescue and ambulance will always show up.”
For two weeks, starting on May 20, the Fulton Police Department, along with law enforcement agencies across the state, will participate in the 2013 Buckle Up New York, Click it or Ticket May mobilization. The goal of this program is to increase seatbelt use and as a result reduce the number of personal injury and fatal crashes.
At 5:18 p.m. on Monday, Chad E. Grinnell, 30, of 14 Country Lane, Hannibal, and BillieJo E., Lewis, 32, of US Route 11 Bldg. 12, Mexico, were both arrested at the Oswego County Jail for third-degree methamphetamine manufacturing, a class D felony.
