I commend the Governor for his commitment to fiscal responsibility by eliminating a gap of $1.3 billion with no new taxes and fees. He is also holding the line on State spending growth under 2% for the third consecutive year. I also appreciate his commitment to real economic development for New York State – particularly the upstate area.
He allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim being less than 13 years of age.
Mayor Gillen has lifted the Emergency Parking Ban in the city of Oswego, effective immediately (Jan. 23). The mayor reminds residents that Alternate Side Parking Restrictions are still in effect between 1 and 6 a.m.
The next phase of the 2007 Oswego City School District EXCEL capital project is getting under way. This portion of the project, entitled “Phase 3B,” will include the remainder of the work from the voter approved capital project.

The chamber’s requests for funding for several events as well as requests dealing with the Independence Day Parade, farmers’ market and Pumpkin Fest among others all received a favorable recommendation. The Oswego Lions Club request for use of Veterans’ Memorial Park for an expanded event was also sent on to the full council.
Mayor Gillen has declared an Emergency Parking Ban in the city of Oswego, effective at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 22. This ban will be in effect until further notice. The Emergency Parking Ban calls for no unnecessary travel on city streets and no parking on any city street until the ban is lifted.
The meeting has been rescheduled for next Wednesday, January 30 with the meeting called to order at 5 p.m., the board moving to executive session and it is expected the public portion of the meeting will reconvene at 6 p.m. at the Education Center.
Fulton Police recommend no unnecessary travel in and around the city of Fulton. Police also remind persons in the city of Fulton that on-street parking is prohibited from 1:30 to 5:30 a.m. Violators will be towed.
