Several blocks along the eastern end of Oswego’s First Ward were placed under the microscope Monday. Mayor Tom Gillen was joined by a half dozen city officials to get a first-hand look at what is right in the ward, what the problems are and where there is room for potential.
Four women were arrested Friday after they went on a shoplifting spree, according to deputies. Some of the merchandise was left behind in the carts along with one of the perpetrator’s purse and identification, deputies said.
City workers are testing the city’s water supply today to try to end the boil water advisory issued Saturday when one of the city’s oldest water wells collapsed.
A metal sleeve inside the K-1 well caved in, according to Mayor Ron Woodward. He said a water department worker noticed a sinkhole next to the well on Saturday. A look inside the 30 foot well revealed the breach.
