The theme for the 31st Annual Memorial Day Parade was “AMERICA… WORTH FIGHTING FOR.”  Based upon this theme, the judges chose several groups in the parade that best represented this year’s theme.  Zachary Menter, parade chairman, announced the following judge’s decisions.

Oswego’s War of 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden was successfully planted recently. The garden is part of the War of 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden Trail. The official dedication of the city of Oswego 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden will be conducted at 4 p.m. on June 16 at the garden site.

Former Phoenix Resident Facing Many Animal Cruelty Charges

Steven C. HartThe two-week investigation began when a village resident went to 86 Cherry Street to remove several aquariums from the front porch and discovered a dead animal located inside the tank. Entry was made into the vacant apartment where several other animal bodies were found in a second floor bedroom.

City To Submit Bid For ‘Unsafe Structure’
