April showers didn’t quite live up to expectations last month. The average temperature last month was 45.8 degrees. That is 1.1 degrees warmer than normal. However, total precipitation for the month came in at 2.14 inches. That is 1.18 inches below average.
Mayor Urges College Students To ‘Leave Green’
Mayor Tom Gillen has announced that an initiative of the Campus-City Relations Committee, the Hall Newman Center and SUNY Oswego’s Campus Life and Residence Life and Housing offices will encourage students to donate rather than discard household and personal items as they prepare to leave town for the summer. The reuse effort, called “Leave Green,” will help the local Oswego community while diverting usable items from the waste stream.
The Ultimate Fishing Town Contest: Vote for Your Town!
World Fishing Network.com is searching for the Ultimate Fishing Town, and Oswego County has not one, but two communities nominated: Oswego and Pulaski. The town that wins will be crowned WFN’s Ultimate Fishing Town, receive a $25,000 community donation, and have a television feature produced on WFN as the Ultimate Fishing Town!
