The Oswego County Environmental Management Council invites individuals, schools and other groups to participate in Oswego County’s Earth Week 2012, with helping protect and preserve our county’s natural resources.

Joleene DesRosiers will give a free talk at 6:30 p.m. on April 10 in the Oswego Public Library Community Room. Joleene will talk on overcoming fear and give a sneak peek at a forthcoming workshop entitled Driven.

Amyloidosis is a relatively rare blood disease that develops when protein called amyloid builds up in your organs, including your heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, digestive tract and nervous system. Without proper diagnosis, typing and treatment, the organs can stop working and the patient can die.

Oswego County residents are continuing to use the ProAct prescription drug card in record numbers. Residents filled 2,974 prescriptions in January, with an average cost per member of $32.84, according to a report presented to the County Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee.

A 15-year-old girl residing in the town of Volney was charged with Juvenile Delinquency for a crime, if committed by an adult, would constitute the charge of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor and sixth-degree conspiracy, a class B misdemeanor.
