Organizers said Warm Up Oswego 2012 was the biggest and best ever. Hundreds of people took part in activities inside and outside the Oswego YMCA Armory and all over the city as well. The event helped lift the Port City out of the winter doldrums.
UPDATE: One person has died as a sesult of the fire.
A Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) is on the scene of a multi-unit apartment fire at 4917 Jefferson Street in Pulaski. A total of 120 seniors were evacuated to the village hall shortly after the incident. At this time, seniors are being let back into the apartment units, except for the floor where the fire damage was contained.
In a brief statement, Superintendent Bill Crist said, “Oswego City School District officials are investigating a parent complaint against the girls’ varsity basketball coach. He has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.”
The state’s estimate of the savings counties will receive if Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s proposed budget is approved may not be a lofty as state officials say, according to one county representative.
After a 1-13 regular season the Oswego Lady Bucs hockey team entered tournament action at the defending state champion and number one seeded Ithaca. What happened will never be forgotten by the Lady Bucs or their fans.

Bob Natoli broke the record of the existing Guinness World Fitness Record for Most Weight Lifted by Barbell Upright Row in One Hour. It was previously held by Ireland’s Eamonn Keane (40,752.5 pounds). This record is dedicated to the needs of our veterans at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, he said, adding that he is personally donating $2,000 to the VA Voluntary Services. He encourages other to donate as well.
