On Wednesday night, the Oswego City School District held the first of two public hearings regarding the proposed tax agreement with Constellation Energy Nuclear Group, owner of Nine Mile Point units I and II. Some school district representatives, their lawyers and representatives of Constellation showed up.But no one from the public.
Numerous concerts are scheduled in the upcoming weeks as the Kingsford Park Elementary School concert band and chorus kicked off the musical series on Tuesday.

Many of the 14 questions he took from people on the call focused on the economy.
“We need to revamp the tax code to make a fairer system,” Owens said in response to a question about tax breaks for businesses and the wealthy. “The wealthy need to pay a bit more.”
Twenty one students made up the nine teams that represented the Hannibal School District’s Kenney Middle School at this year’s the event.
They also approved overriding the state-mandated two-percent tax levy limit for 2012 if need be; and they approved using a county employee to inspect county-owned structures, in stead of paying the state more than $60,000 a year to do it. A public hearing on the tax deal will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 15.
The Oswego City Police and Fire departments, as well as the New York State Police Dive
Team and the United States Coast Guard, are all assisting in the recovery effort, utilizing
specialized equipment to conduct a thorough search of the area.
At about 9:09 a.m. today (Nov. 29), Oswego City Police responded to a report of a two-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of West Fifth and West Albany streets. As a result of the impact between the two vehicles, one was pushed up onto the sidewalk and struck a 25-year-old woman and her young son.
The Fulton Police Department is attempting to identify a male subject suspected of stealing a lady’s purse while in the parking lot of Kinney Drugs in Fulton. The incident occurred on Nov. 22 at about 6:30 p.m. as the victim left the store.
