Many County Schools Land on State’s “Needs Improvement” List
Eight school buildings and three school districts in Oswego County have been added to the state’s list of schools that need to improve education quickly.
The New York State Education Department Thursday revealed its new list of schools that failed to make adequate progress towards its ever-higher goals for student achievement.

Committee Plants Seeds For Tree City in Oswego
At its meeting Monday night, the Planning and Development Committee approved setting a public hearing regarding Tree City USA. On two previous occasions, the council has unanimously agreed that Oswego should become certified as a “Tree City USA.”
