Ritchie’s EEE Forum Aims Towards Coordinated Game Plan for Next Year
Local and state officials gather in Oswego this morning for a forum on finding better ways to combat Eastern Equine Encephalitis.
State Senator Patty Ritchie (R-Oswegatchie) organized the discussion after this summer’s large-scale outbreak of the disease claimed the life of a 4 year old girl from New Haven.
“I don’t want any other family to have to go through what Maggie Wilcox’s family has gone through,” Ritchie said in a September interview.

Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspected Meth Lab
On Oct. 11, members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office became involved in an investigation that revealed a meth lab production operation. Deputies responded to 459 County Route 41 in the Town of Mexico on a report of suspicious items in the home.
Fulton Police Make Arrest In Robbery
Police say the suspect, while in the process of committing a larceny from a vehicle, was confronted by a property owner. The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended following a brief struggle in which the victim was struck in the head.

The 2012 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band Selection Tour visited Oswego High School Tuesday night. During an 8:30 p.m. ceremony, immediately following practice for the Marching Buccaneers, they officially announced the selection of mellophone player Gina Bartholomew and drummer Jeffrey Murray to the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.
