Two Pools Of Mosquitoes Test Positive For EEE In West Monroe, Palermo
The Oswego County Health Department reported that the eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) virus was found in two pools of mosquitoes collected during the week of July 15. One sample was collected at Toad Harbor/Big Bay Swamp in West Monroe and the second was taken from the northeast section of the Town of Palermo.

Unemployment in Oswego County shot back up in June after several months of declines.
The jobless rate rose half a percentage point from May to June, to 9.9%. It was 10.2% a year ago.

Dog Park Organizational Meeting Set
There will be a meeting Aug. 4 for all people interested in forming an advocacy group for the proposed new dog park. The meeting will be from 7-8 p.m. at the McCobie Building on Lake Street.
