Police: Man Threatens Driver with a Knife in Road Rage Incident
State Police say a Central Square man threatened to stab one person and tried to run over another man during what they called a road rage incident.

Oswego Hospital Closing Home Aide Service
“This decision was not arrived at easily and we very much appreciate the willingness of the area licensed agencies to support the transition of home aide services,” said Ann Gilpin, Oswego Health President and CEO. “Clients will be allowed to select the organization of their preference and we will support the clients and their families through this transition. Fort Ontario Welcomes Back Independence Day Parade
The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce has decided to reverse the parade route this year. It will begin along Liberty Street and wind up at the fort.

Arrest Made In Oswego Cemetery Burglary Probe
According to police, the suspect admitted to committing a total of three burglaries at St. Peter’s Cemetery, as well as a separate Criminal Mischief, for which further charges are pending.

Public Hearing Scheduled On Digital Sign Issue
The council set a public hearing for 7:10 p.m. July 11 in the Council Chambers, regarding proposed amendments to Chapter 280 Zoning Section 280-65 – Illuminated and Digital Electronic Signs. At issue is where, if any place, should this type of sign be allowed in downtown Oswego.

Fulton Schools Cut 16 Positions, Put Laid Off Staff on Recall List
Friday morning, 16.6 jobs that existed in the Fulton City School District this past school year will not exist anymore.
The Fulton Board of Education voted to eliminate the 16.6 positions, a move made necessary by the cuts contained in the district’s 2011-12 budget.
