The dry spell lingers. But, it could be snapped today; probably tomorrow.
The annual Oswego High School awards ceremony recognized numerous deserving, hardworking and dedicated students. Through the generosity of parents, families, businesses and community oriented organizations Oswego High School students benefited greatly with the awarding of numerous scholarships worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The average temperature for spring 2011 was 1.5 degrees above average. There were some very wet streaks. But, there was a dry spell to balance things out.
A public hearing will be held next month regarding proposed amendments to Chapter 280 Zoning Section 280-65 – Illuminated and Digital Electronic Signs. Changes would include replacing “flashing” with “Digital and Electronic” in the title; adding revolving signs to the list of those prohibited and adding digital and/or electronic operated signs shall be allowed only as a steady state light display.
Looks like we’re in another rain-free streak. It should last a few more days.
Owner Ed Alberts said 30 people will work at the center, which was a Golden Corral restaurant before sitting empty for about six years. It cost more than $700,000 to turn the building from a restaurant into a daycare center.
The Oswego Public Library used grant funding to purchase new video conferencing equipment for its Public Computing Center. Adding video conferencing equipment to the center for training and education will help to stimulate employment and job opportunities, according to the facility’s director.
