Senator Ritchie sponsored and organized the event to show residents that, even with what the senator admitted is a “blow to Oswego County,” (the loss of Birdeye) there are, according to the senator’s communications director Jim Reagen, “actually more opportunities than people realize.”

Rare Bird Reportedly Spotted At Sandy Pond
Last month, a SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry student spotted a piping plover. It was the first sighting of the endangered bird at Sandy Pond since 1984. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service will investigate the sighting later this coming week.

History Repeats Itself For Oswego Middle School Musicians, Singers
On June 3, the Oswego Middle School String Orchestra and Chorus traveled to perform and compete at the Darien Lake Music Festival competition at Six Flags Darien Lake. This is the second consecutive year that the OMS Orchestra has been awarded the Grand Champions Trophy. The Grand Champion honor has been earned by the orchestra in nine of the last 12 years.
