One man is in the hospital and another behind bars following an early-morning shooting in Scriba today (April 22). At approximately 4:16 a.m. members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shots fired report 145 Skyline Drive.
The suspect entered a local business and allegedly exposed himself to a female employee. He also placed her hands on his body to show off his muscles, police said.
Fulton’s rainfall total continued to climb Wednesday. It looks to go even higher over the weekend.
Although the Oswego County Legislature hasn’t increased the average property tax rate since 2004, county government is financially prepared to protect taxpayers during budget challenges in the months to come.
As graduation approaches, SUNY Oswego is hoping to prepare its seniors to enter a job market that has been becoming steadier but is still unpredictable. At SUNY Oswego’s Compass they offer a number of different services that students can use to do anything from work on and refine resumes to searching databases for different kinds of work opportunities.

On May 1, friends and relatives of the late William (Biff) Feeney will be gathering at The American Foundry in Oswego to celebrate his life and to raise funds to help defer the enormous medical expenses Billy incurred over the last few years. The event will start at noon and will go to 7 p.m.
When Schroon Lake Central School District’s new superintendent takes over on July 1, she will bring a little bit of Oswego with her. At its April 14 meeting, the Schroon Lake board of education unanimously approved hiring Oswego Middle School Principal Bonnie Finnerty as the district’s new superintendent. “She was an effective leader as a building principal. She will be a wonderful superintendent,” said Oswego superintendent Bill Crist.
